Will SBI Clerk 2016 be cancelled? A bank exam candidate has filed a case in madras high court against State Bank of India (SBI) for not allowing loan defaulters to apply for SBI Clerical Cadre Recruitment for the year 2016-17 for the post of Junior associates & junior agricultural associates.
The Patna High Court today sought the Centre, SBI chairman’s response on a plea seeking cancellation of the SBI Clerk Recruitment 2016 on the ground that they didn’t accept online application from loan defaulters for filling up 17000 junior associates & junior agricultural associates vacancies this year.
SBI Clerk 2016 Case Status
Issuing Notices to the Centre and SBI Chairman, Justice R Mahadevan and S S Sundar sought their explanation within two weeks on the PIL filed by S Gurukrishna Gokul, alleging that SBI didn’t allow loan defaulters to apply for their recruitment of 17,000 junior associate (clerical) jobs. He, S Gurukrishna Gokul also wants the court to direct SBI to issue a fresh notification for all such candidates to apply again.
Why Case was filled against SBI?
S Gurukrishna Gokul is the man who has filled a PIL on May 25 in the Madras high court against State Bank of India.
Gokul submitted that as per the notification, the candidates with record of default in repayment of loans, or in whose names an adverse report in Credit Information Bureau Limited is available are not eligible to apply for the posts.
This condition would prevent a large number of economically and socially backward candidates from applying for the posts.
"This condition of the bank would only make more defaulters. Instead of giving employment to the candidates to make them repay loans, the bank was creating lakhs of defaulters of education loan by stipulating unreasonable and arbitrary ineligibility condition,"
Will SBI Clerk 2016 be Cancelled?
As we know, The Madras high court has given two weeks time to explain the matter. We need to wait till SBI put their views on this PIL to get any more information on cancellation of SBI Clerk Recruitment 2016.
